SALT LAKE CITY – Two more additions to the University of Utah softball program became official on Friday, as the squad brought aboard pitcher Julianne Rose and outfielder Ashtyn Reichardt.
Rose arrives in Salt Lake City after two years at Boise State, where she appeared in 63 games and recorded 12 wins for the Broncos. Her stat line as a freshman included three saves, tying her for sixth in the Mountain West and she chopped more than a full run off her ERA as a sophomore while leading the roster with nine victories. Her 2026 campaign included a pair of complete game shutouts, one of which was a one-hitter with 10 strikeouts against FDU on Feb. 13, and Rose's last four decisions in 2026 were all triumphs.
"Julianne brings the experience and presence we're looking for in the circle," said coach
Amy Hogue. "She's a power pitcher who can consistently work in the upper 60s, has proven herself as a starter and competes with confidence. We're excited to welcome her to Utah and can't wait to see her compete against the best hitters in the Big 12."
Reichardt began her college career with two years at Arkansas, including a redshirt season in 2025. In 2026, she went 5-for-15 at the plate to help contribute to a Razorback squad that rattled off 47 wins, hosted an NCAA Regional and reached the Women's College World Series for the first time in school history. Reichardt arrived in Fayetteville after a spectacular high school that earned her a ranking as the No. 22 player in the class of 2024 from Extra Innings Softball. She was a District 19 6A First-Team selection in all four years she was at Katy High School and, in 2024, led her team to a No. 1 national ranking and a 39-3-1 record.
"Ashtyn is a competitor who is ready for an expanded role and the opportunity to make a significant impact," said Hogue. "She fills an important need for us as a left-handed hitter and outfielder, while bringing experience from competing at the highest levels of travel softball and at the Women's College World Series. We're excited to see her embrace this opportunity and help lead our program to where we want to go."
This makes four new additions for the Utes so far in the summer of 2026, with Rose and Reichardt joining a list that already includes catcher Anya German and pitcher Lizzy Tommasini.
