In the fifth, Utah put the lead runner on again but couldn't score her.
The Aztecs would score their first run of the game in the third after Meagan Hartung singled, moved to second on a sacrifice bunt and scored on a single by Janna Kovensky. They added another in the fourth after an error put an Aztec on base. The runner would swipe second before scoring on a single up the middle. SDSU threatened again in the bottom of the sixth after putting their two lead runner on. Utah would play strong defense, getting two Aztecs out in rundowns as they tried to score. The final out would come with runners on second and third, as shortstop Glennis Donnelly made a diving nab to end the inning.
