MATCH WEEK
No. 19 Utah volleyball (8-3, 1-1 Pac-12) returns to its home court for the first time in three weeks, hosting the Oregon State Beavers (2-10, 0-2 Pac-12) and No. 11 Oregon Ducks (11-1, 2-0 Pac-12) for its conference home openers this weekend. The Utes and Beavers will get action underway this Friday, Oct. 1, with first serve at 7 p.m. MT inside the Jon M. Huntsman Center, while Utah and Oregon will play Sunday, Oct. 3 at 12 p.m. MT. Both matches will be televised on the Pac-12 Networks and will have Krista Blunk serving as the talent.

FOR THE FANS
Friday's match against Oregon State will be the Power of Pink game. Fans wearing pink will receive free admission in support of breast cancer awareness. Utah volleyball will honor breast cancer survivors during the match, as well as show educational components on the videoboard. There will also be a face painter located in the kids zone.

On Sunday, the theme of the match will be healthcare worker appreciation day, along with kids day. Any fans attending the match who work in the healthcare field can show a valid identification for free admission. There will be a face painter in the kids zone, while the kids will also enjoy kid-friendly music throughout moments of the match.

• Utah is ranked No. 19 in the AVCA Coaches Poll this week. It is the 34th-straight week Utah has been ranked, dating back to Sept. 2, 2019.

SCOUTING OREGON STATE
Oregon State is coming off a pair of losses to begin conference play, dropping three-set matches to Oregon and Arizona. The Beavers picked up a season-opening win over Oklahoma in five sets, but went on a six-game losing streak before downing Southern Illinois Edwardsville in a sweep for their other win this season. Oregon State is led by libero Grace Massey, who ranks No. 2 in the conference in digs per set (4.81) and No. 41 in the nation. Massey tied a career-high 33 digs in the sweep over SIUE. Offensively, the Beavers have four players averaging over 2.79 kills per set and use a pair of setters to run the offense.

SCOUTING OREGON
The Ducks have jumped out to an 11-1 start this season with the sole loss coming from then No. 13-ranked Minnesota in five sets. Oregon began conference play with a sweep over Oregon State, followed by a five-set victory against Arizona State in Tempe. Oregon leads the Pac-12 in digs per set (15.79), hitting percentage (.284), and opponent hitting percentage (0.133), while ranking second in blocks per set (2.85). Nationally, the Ducks are No. 9 in the nation in blocks per set, No. 13 in hitting percentage and opponent hitting percentage. Karson Bacon leads the conference and is second nationally with a .471 hitting percentage, while Abby Hansen leads the Pac-12 and is No. 17 nationally with 1.41 blocks per set. Brooke Nuneviller leads the squad with 3.57 kills per set, while Georgia Murphy holds down the backrow with 4.50 digs per set.

LAST TIME OUT
The Utes continued their stretch of road matches to open Pac-12 play with a match at then No. 6 Washington and No. 24 Colorado. Utah pulled off another huge road upset, defeating Washington in five sets after trailing 2-1.
Dani Drews collected 26 kills and 12 digs, while
Madelyn Robinson added 14 kills and 11 digs to the count.
Stef Jankiewicz and
Vanessa Ramirez also added double-doubles to aid Utah in the upset. To close out the road trip, Utah could not limit Colorado's offense and struggled to find a rhythm of its own in Boulder. Utah fell in straight sets to the Buffaloes to start conference play 1-1.

UP NEXT
Utah will return to the road once again, this time heading to Los Angeles to face USC and UCLA. The first match of the trip will be played Friday, Oct. 8 against USC at 8 p.m. MT at the Galen Center. The match between the Utes and Trojans will air on the Pac-12 Networks. Utah and UCLA will then wrap up the weekend on Sunday, Oct. 10 with the first serve coming at 1 p.m. MT.
