SALT LAKE CITY – Utah Volleyball took on the No. 13 Kansas Jayhawks in a Big 12 matchup Wednesday night at the Jon M. Huntsman Center after upsetting the No. 23 BYU Cougars last week.
The Utes carried the momentum of their rivalry win last week into their matchup with the Jayhawks, sweeping Kansas (25-20, 25-21, 25-22).

SET ONE
The Utes and Jayhawks matched each other's speed in the beginning of the first set before the Utes went on a four-point run, rallying up the score to 5-3 after
Levani Key-Powell had a successful dig that set up a kill for
Kamryn Gibadlo.
Leah Wilton-LaBoy set up
Katelynn Field for a kill that brought the Utes up 7-5.
Utah continued to capitalize on its momentum by going on a 5-point run, bringing the score to 15-9 at the media timeout.
After a tricky rally,
Neea-Maria Joki tipped the ball just over the Jayhawks reach, sending the score to 19-14.
Kansas went on a four-point run for the tie score but fell short 21-19 after a block by
Emrie Moea'i and Key-Powell.
The Utes took the first set 25-20.

SET TWO
The Utes took the first point of the second set after a Jayhawks attack error, but Kansas didn't let the error stop it as they went up 3-1 to start the set.
Utah battled back to tie the score, 4-4.
Gibadlo had three kills in a row to send the Utes up, 10-5.
Joki sent a strong kill into Jayhawks territory bringing the score to 12-7.
During the second set, Gibadlo also contributed two more back-to-back kills, and a service ace, raising the score, 22-16.
The Utes ended up fending off the Jayhawks to take the second set, 24-21.

SET THREE
Kansas found their rhythm after the set break by taking the first point of the third set and going up 5-2 over the Utes.
Utah did not let the Jayhawks' confidence faze it and went on to tie the score at 5-5 after Moea'i, Gibadlo, and Field put tough kills on the board.

The Utes and Jayhawks went back and forth with each other tying eight times with one lead change.
With the score at 21-20, Kansas had a net violation that gave the Utes the final tie of the set before taking the lead.
With the entire Jon M. Huntsman Center crowd on their feet, the Utes took the third and final set, 25-22, and pull off the ranked upset sweep, 3-0.

STANDOUT STATS
- Utes Total Stats: 50 kills off 123 total attempts, two aces, 41 assists, six blocks, 59 digs.
- Gibadlo led the team in kills (18) with a .367 kill percentage and recorded five digs and one service ace.
- Key-Powell led the game in digs (16) and contributed three kills and two blocks.
- Moea'i had 13 kills, two blocks and had a total of 14 points.
