No. 22 Utah Women's Volleyball Team Wins Fourth Straight

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The No. 22 University of Utah women's volleyball team won its fourth straight match tonight when it swept Air Force 30-27, 30-25, 30-22. The Utes hit for .362 on the match and held the Falcons to .182. However, Utah was out-blocked 9-5. With the win, the Utes improve to 18-6 overall and 7-3 in the Mountain West Conference.
"We won on the road!" Head Coach Beth Launiere said. "We played very steady and with confidence - much like we've been playing at home lately. I was very pleased with our effort."
Junior captain Kim Turner led Utah with 16 kills on a .565 hitting percentage. "Kim has just been tearing it up lately," Launiere said.
Turner now needs just six kills to join the 1,000-kills club.
Senior Sylva Strzinkova and sophomore Sabine Schulz added nine kills apiece, and junior libero Jackie Morrill led Utah with 11 digs. Sophomore setter Kelsie Kartchner had 41 assists and sophomore Lyndsey Phillips led the Utes with four blocks.
UP NEXT: The Utes face New Mexico in a 7:00 p.m. match tomorrow night, Nov. 2.
