"I think we played our typical match, held our opponent to a low percentage and hit well," said Head Coach Beth Launiere. "I think we wear teams down with our block. I don't want anyone in this program to take winning for granted, Texas Tech is a good team. Utah State is playing good volleyball and they are a good defensive team. They run the slide like us and they are hungry, I am expecting a good match."
"We knew we were going to come out with a great match, Utah is a great blocking team," said Texas Tech Head Coach Jeff Nelson. "We needed to play a great match, but we struggled. I think Utah is going to do a great job in this tournament. I think our team did a great job, we played hard and I hope we'll get another chance again. We just didn't do the things we needed to do tonight."
UP NEXT: Utah will face the Utah State Aggies on Fri., Nov. 30 at 7:00 p.m. at Crimson Court in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The Utes will await the chance to participate in the NCAA Regionals on Dec. 6-8.
