"We set goals last January and they were pretty lofty goals and we just achieved a really big one," said Head Coach Beth Launiere. "It is not always easy to set goals and achieve them. Our defense and blocking have really been doing it for us. Our setters did a good job at getting the ball to our hitters and taking advantage of their smaller blockers. We have been playing at a national level for a very long time now. We made some big moves in the state by beating BYU and Utah State. We broke down another barrier tonight."
"Utah played an outstanding game," said Utah State Head Coach Burt Fuller. "They have great athletes and they block well. They represent the state of Utah well and I think they will do well in the rest of the tournament."
UP NEXT: Utah will participate in the NCAA Regionals on Dec. 6-8.
