ANN ARBOR, Mich. - The Utah women's soccer team found itself in its third overtime game this season, only this time fell in a 3-2 sudden death victory to Michigan.
The Wolverines led most of the game, scoring in the 27th minute when Mari Hoff headed in a cross by Nancy Mather. Utah's Amy Kofoed scored her third goal of the weekend on a free kick by defender Bernie Hogan. Michigan didn't let the tie stand, scoring two minutes later on an unassisted shot by Kacy Bietel. The Utes came back to tie the score when defensive midfielder Katie Tate was awarded a penalty kick from a Wolverine hand ball in the goal box.
Michigan came back to win the game when Bietel score her second goal in overtime. She headed in a cross by Emily Schmitt.
The Utes are now 3-2.
