Todd Delnoce returns for his sixth season with the Utes. He came to Utah in 1996 with then head coach Bill Kinneberg and stayed on as Tim Esmay[apos]s assistant when Esmay took over as head coach in 1997. Delnoce is Utah[apos]s primary hitting coach and also works with the outfielders and base runners. He is also an integral part of the U. recruiting staff.
In 1997, Delnoce helped Utah to a second-place WAC finish when his hitters had a .351 team batting average. Delnoce served as a graduate assistant coach at Arizona State in 1995. He was recruited to play football at ASU and walked onto the baseball team where he became a fixture at second base. He served as team captain in 1994 and was the starting second baseman for the Devils in both the 1993 and 1994 College World Series. As a senior, Delnoce shared the ASU Most Inspirational Award, along with the late head coach Jim Brock.
During the summer of 1996, he played professionally for the Bangor Blue Ox in Bangor, Maine. He also served as a head coach in the Arizona Summer Collegiate League in 1995.
Delnoce received a bachelor[apos]s degree in social work from Arizona State in 1994. He is a native of Santa Ana, Calif. The 28-year-old Delnoce is married to Staci Richardson.
