SALT LAKE CITY – University of Utah baseball alumnus
Tyler Quinn has been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, as announced on Tuesday by the organization.
It is the third straight season that a member of the Utah baseball program has earned CSC Academic All-District. Quinn was also selected as a finalist for CSC Academic All-America; those honorees will be revealed later this Summer.
An applied positive psychology major, Quinn had a 3.71 cumulative GPA during his two years (2024-25) at Utah. He came to the Utes as a transfer from Pacific University in Oregon, where he spent the 2020-23 seasons.
He totaled 92 games played at Utah with 88 starts as a catcher, first baseman, third baseman and DH. He played in all 50 games during the 2025 season with 47 starts, hitting .316 with 17 doubles, five homers, 39 RBIs and 36 runs scored. Quinn finished among the team leaders in batting average (4th), slugging (3rd; .480), OBP (4th; .396), runs scored (T-3rd), RBI (2nd), hits (3rd; 62), doubles (2nd), home runs (T-2nd), and walks (4th; 18).
He finished the 2025 season on a 13-game hitting streak and tallied 17 multi-hit games on the year, tying for third-most on the team. Quinn was a solid bat to have coming up when the Utes needed a timely hit; he boasted a .353 batting average this past year with runners in scoring position. His 11 doubles during Big 12 Conference play tied Quinn for sixth in the league.
It was a season of great strides for Quinn as he improved in nearly every statistical category from the 2024 campaign. He raised his batting average nearly 100 points from .218 to .316, went from a .353 to .480 slugging percentage, nine to 17 doubles and lowered his strike out number by 11 even in having 40 more at bats.
