This weekend, Utah heads to the Mary Nutter Classic for a fourth season in a row. The Utes will play doubleheaders during all three days of the tournament that runs Saturday-Monday.
UTAH NOTES
- Utah is ranked No. 21 in the nation after finishing 2017 with its highest national ranking ever (#14).Â
- Alyssa Barrera was named to the USA Softball Player of the Year "Watch List", one of nine sophomores on the 50-person list
- Katie Donovan is the active Pac-12 leader in career wins, strikeouts, saves, starts, innings and appearances
- Donovan needs seven strikeouts to reach 450 for her career and 26 to move into fifth place all-time at Utah
 - With one more appearance, Ally Dickman will have played in 100 games during her Utah career
- After a weekend where she batted 7-for-14, Heather Bowen is 20 hits shy of 150 for her career
- Utah finished 37-16, its best record since 1997, and had its best mark in Pac-12 play (13-9) since joining the conference in 2012.
- The Utes reached the postseason for a 21st time and qualified for the NCAA Tournament in a third straight year, a program first.
- Utah also advanced to a second-straight NCAA Super Regional and hosted a NCAA Regional for the first time
- Utah finished last season ranked 18th nationally in scoring at 5.9 runs per contest and team batting average (.318)
- Defensively, Utah led the league and ranked second nationally with 32 double plays turned
- The Utes were one of seven Pac-12 teams ranked among the top 25 nationally
- The five players selected to the first and second Pac-12 all-conference teams in 2017 were the most for Utah since it joined the Pac-12.Â
- Amy Hogue needs two wins to amass 300 for her Utah career and four to reach 500 for her entire career.Â
