Utah Head Coach Rich Manning
"The game wasn't that big of a surprise to me. Idaho State did a great job of shortening the game and limiting our chances. It seemed like one of those days, where if we didn't make one play we were going to go into a shootout. I credit them; we really didn't get a lot of clean shots. We lacked a little bit of composure in front of the net, which made a difference."
"I don't think we played any different then we have during the season. It is hard to score on a team that packs in their defense. We had an equal chance of winning the shootout, but their players did a great job. With the wet conditions, the goalkeepers were having a hard time with their footing."
"We have spent a lot of emotional energy in the past few weeks. We could have played better, but you have to credit Idaho State. With a lot of turnover from last year's team, and to have the team come together so quickly is a credit to the players. We may not have made the second round, but this is probably the best team in Utah history."
Utah Senior Bobbie Benegas
"In a shootout, you can't tell who is really winning the game. It comes down to one shot. I give credit to Idaho State, but I think shootouts are pure luck. We could have made more opportunities and been more aggressive on offense."
Utah Senior Amber Brower
"It's frustrating to work so hard and then to lose in a shootout. We had our chances, but we just couldn't finish. It was sad to lose this game."
"Idaho State has improved since the time we played them last. They had a few players we hadn't seen before and they really made an impact for them."
