SALT LAKE CITY - Utah freshman forward Amanda Feigt was named Mountain West Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week. This is Feigt's first player of the week honor.
Feigt, a native of Sandy, Utah, led the 20th-ranked Utes to a 2-0 win over Mountain West title contender Wyoming last weekend, scoring a goal and adding an assist. Feigt's assist on Bobbie Benegas' goal in the 27th minute of the match gave Utah the 1-0 advantage going into halftime. Feigt put the match out of reach in the 83rd minute with her third goal of the season, giving the Utes the victory and sole possession of first-place in the conference race going into the last week of the regular season.
Utah (14-2, 5-0 MWC) plays BYU (12-4-1, 4-1 MWC) on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. in Provo, Utah. The top two teams in the Mountain West will meet with the regular-season conference title on the line. Utah has clinched at least a share of its second league title in the last five years, but can win its first outright conference championship with a win over the Cougars.
