Kofoed Named MWC Soccer Player of the Week

SALT LAKE CITY - Junior forward Amy Kofoed was rewarded with the Mountain West Conference Soccer Player of the Week honor for two game-winning goals last weekend. Kofoed, Utah's goals leader with eight, struck three times in two games at South Carolina and Georgia. In heavy rains at USC she scored the go-ahead goal in the 86th minute. At Georgia she helped increase the Utes' win streak to five games with an unassisted goal in overtime. Kofoed scored the first goal of the game as well. This is Kofoed's third career player of the week award and first this season. Utah's Shauna Gurr earned the honor last week.
