LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The Utah women's soccer team is 10-5 with a 3-1 Mountain West Conference record after devastating UNLV in a 2-0 match. It was a close contest, the Utes outshooting the Rebels only 15-12. UNLV hit the Ute box with five shots-on-goal, but were unable to score as freshman goalkeeper Courtney Hills picks up her sixth shutout of the season.
Sophomore Amy Kofoed scored her 10th goal of the season on a header off a cross from forward Alli Cerruti. Kofoed assisted in Utah's second goal as well, this time with a cross of her own. Senior Staci Burt scored the goal for the Utes with a powerhouse kick into the top right corner of the net. The goal marks Burt's sixth goal this season.
The Utes return home to play the last three games of the 1999 season at Ute Field beginning Oct. 21 against Air Force.
