STARTING BLOCK
With the indoor season all wrapped up, the Utah track & field team will start its outdoor season this Saturday, March 21, down in St. George at the Utah Tech Invitational. The Women of Utah will send 18 participants with a mix of sprints, distance and throws competitors traveling. From that group, 10 of the women will be making their collegiate outdoor season debut while María Alvarado will be making her first outdoor debut as a Ute after transferring in midseason.

INDOOR REWIND
The Women of Utah saw a lot of success during the indoor season – which culminated with the Utes posting a program-high three individual qualifiers (
Chelsea Amoah,
Bri Rinn,
Erin Vringer) while its DMR squad (Rinn,
Emily Martin,
Kyla Martin, Vringer) returned to the championships for the second-straight year.
Â
When the dust settled, all three individuals garnered USTFCCCA Second-Team All-America honors – which is the most for Utah at a single indoor championships meet to pass the previous high of two from 2023 when Simone Plourde and Emily Venters both earned first-team honors.
Â
Meanwhile, Utah's DMR team of Rinn, E. Martin, K. Martin and Vringer repeated as first-team All-Americans when they placed seventh-overall, joining Grayson Murphy (2017-18) as the only other Ute to earn multiple All-America honors at the indoor championships.
Â
UP NEXT
Utah will have a split squad the following week with the majority of its team heading to Los Angeles for the Trojan Invitational (March 28) at Loker Track Stadium hosted by USC while a small contingent will stay home and compete at the UVU Invitational (March 26).
