ST. GEORGE, Utah – The Utah track & field team had successful start to the outdoor season on Saturday at the Utah Tech Invitational, pulling in five event victories and set three meet records inside Greater Zion Stadium.

Utah's 4x100m relay team of
Haley Duvall,
Kinzlee Riddle,
Matejah Mangum and
Rachel Bair set the tone for the day by kicking things off with a victory behind a run of 44.85 – which was the fourth-fastest in program history.

The Women of Utah then had six of the top-10 finishers in the 1500m run led by
Josie Fale – who led the race wire-to-wire with a new meet record time of 4:25.63 to claim the victory in her collegiate outdoor debut.

Annastasia Peters was third behind a PR time of 4:28.70 in the 1500m followed by freshman
Emily Junginger (4:28.84) and
Mackenzie Rogers (4:31.76) to round out the top-5.
Sona Kourilova was right behind Rogers and placed sixth-overall with a run of 4:33.58 while
Claire Le Gallo was the sixth and final Ute to cross the finish line in the top-10 with a new PR time of 4:38.18 for eighth-overall.

In the 100m hurdles, the Utes had a trio of runners claim the final three spots in the top-10 led by
Lela Divinity (14.65) in eighth.
Glo Hussey won her heat with a mark of 14.66 – which was good for ninth while María Alvarado claimed 10th (14.77).
Rachel Bair rounded things out for Utah with a PR run of 14.92.

Matejah Mangum picked up Utah's third event victory on the day when she broke the meet record with a time of 11.61 in the 100m dash – which was also good for No. 2 all-time at Utah. Riddle (11.82) was right behind her in second-place with the sixth-fastest time in school history while Duvall secured the sweep for Utah with a third-place time of 11.96 to move herself into No. 10 on the all-time list.

Grace Moroney secured a third-place finish in the 800m run with her first race back since recovering from an injury last season with a mark of 2:15.84. Teammate
Allie Bruce was less than two seconds behind her with a 2:16.37 finish.

Riddle claimed her second event victory of the day later in the 200m dash when she crossed the finish line at 23.88 to move herself into No. 4 on the all-time list at Utah. Mangum would take third-overall with a run of 24.28 and saw herself inserted into the school record books at No. 8. Freshman
Ellie Heslam just narrowly missed out on a top-10 finish in her collegiate debut, running 25.48 for 11th-place.

Divinity, Heslam, Bair and Duvall put a bow on the end of the day when they captured the win in the 4x400m relay – Utah's fifth victory of the meet – with a run of 3:45.74 to set a new meet record.

Over in the field events, Hussey tied for second in the high jump with a leap of 1.66m (5-5.25). She would then throw a day's best mark of 28.29m (92-9) in her first attempt in the javelin.

Riddle and Mangum had a great start to the outdoor season for Utah with three new marks in the school record books while Duvall had two and Bair checking in with one. Riddle and Mangum both saw their names inserted into the record books in the 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay while Duvall saw her name added in the 100m and 4x100m relay with Bair saw herself added as part of the 4x100m relay team.

UP NEXT
The Utes will have a split squad next week with a small contingent competing locally at the UVU Invitational on Thursday, March 26, while the rest of the squad heads to sunny Southern California for the USC Trojan Invite on Saturday, March 28. That meet will stream in its entirety on Big Ten Plus (B1G+) from Loker Track Stadium.
