This Weekend's Fan Experience Rundown
- Parking is free for all Utah Baseball home games. Fans may park in Lot 40, Lot 9 or Lot 1. Click here for a parking map. Please note that game parking is not permitted in the neighborhoods South of America First Ballpark or in the lot directly in front of the Salt Lake Sports Complex. Fans can also ride UTA free with a valid game ticket; both the No. 9 and 17 bus routes have stops directly outside America First Ballpark and the TRAX Red Line is close by as well.
- Gates open one hour before first pitch. Read Know Before U Go for a full outline of ballpark policies and tips.
- Friday will mark Utah's first Big 12 Conference game of the season and the first league contest played on Charlie Monfort Field at America First Ballpark. The first 100 fans inside the gate can claim a voucher for food at the Cowboy Corndog truck on the plaza located in the right field corner.
- Arrive early on Saturday as the first 100 fans will receive a special hat that the Utes will be wearing during the game. In addition, the team will be debuting a new pinstripe uniform on Saturday.
- All promotional giveaway items can be picked up at the marketing table on the concourse behind home plate.
- Postgame on Sunday, kids are invited to come down on the field to run the bases.
The First Pitch: Things to Know
- Utah Baseball christened the new Charlie Monfort Field at America First Ballpark this past week against the Grand Canyon Lopes. Utah swept the four-game series and shut out GCU in the first three games. It marked the first time since at least 1987 that Utah recorded a shutout victory in three straight games.
- Over the last 41 innings, Utah has allowed just two runs.
- Cameron Gurney has been a major focal point in Utah's offense this year. The first baseman leads the team in RBIs (16), batting average (.360) and on-base percentage (.508). With just one error on the season (.991 fielding percentage), Gurney has also proven to be highly effective defensively.
- Jake Long heads into the Arizona series with a hot bat, riding a team-best nine-game hitting streak. In Sunday's matchup against GCU, Long was a difference-maker with three hits, scoring after each of those at-bats.
- Daniel Arambula hit .259 in the series against GCU, and helped turn three double plays from third base. The sophomore transfer was a hitting machine during his freshman season at San Diego State, where he ranked second on the team in batting average and RBIs, trailing only fellow transfer Nevan Noonan.
- Utah will hand the ball to its ace, Colter McAnelly, on Friday to open conference play. Last Friday against GCU, the Wyoming native earned the win with six scoreless innings, striking out nine while allowing just two hits. He was relieved by Dillon Fine and Ian Culver, who combined to complete the shutout and secure Utah's first victory at America First Ballpark.
