MANHATTAN, Kan. –
Kaden Carpenter hit a towering home run for his first long ball of the season, but the Kansas State bats belted out 14 hits and took advantage of four Utah errors as the series finale went to K-State by a 14-2 score on Sunday at Tointon Family Stadium.
The game was called after seven innings; the Big 12 Conference has the 10-run rule in effect for the last playing opportunity of a series.

th consecutive contest.
Jake Long returned to the lineup and singled, getting on base for his 11
th straight game played.
The Wildcats were first on the scoreboard, scoring one run in the second inning and three more in the third—the latter taking advantage of two Utah errors and giving K-State a 4-0 lead.
But Carpenter worked quick to cut the deficit in half, clubbing a two-run homer in the top of the fourth. It was measured at 419 feet over the right field scoreboard and came after
Tyler Quinn reached on a fielder's choice.
That 4-2 score remained until the bottom of the fifth with K-State plating a pair. The home club scratched across two more in the sixth for an 8-2 lead. In the seventh, a six-spot including two home runs brought the game to a close.
Lucas Boesen (1-1) took the loss for the Utes.

Utah will now get ready to open up the home schedule at Smith's Ballpark, hosting Northern Colorado for a midweek two-game series. First pitch on Tuesday will be at 6 p.m. MT with the finale to follow at noon MT on Wednesday.
