Alyssa Barrera broke up UW's shot at a no-hitter with a single to start the seventh, but that was all the Utes could muster against Taran Alvelo

Heather Bowen but improved to 19-1 on the season with a seven-strikeout shutout.

Katie Donovan struggled with her control for Utah, walking five in 3 1/3 innings.
Hailey Hilburn went the final 2 2/3 frames, striking out three.

Washington started scoring in the first when Sis Bates walked, moved to third on a single by Kirstyn Thomas and came home on a Julia DePonte ground ball.

Taylor Van Zee and Bates walked to begin the third and after an infield single by Thomas, a wild pitch scored the game's second run.

In the fourth, Kelly Burdick singled and Van Zee doubled her home. After a ground out, another wild pitch made it 4-0.
