SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Senior outside hitter Adora Aane, senior middle blocker
Tawnee Luafalemana, senior outside hitter
Carly Trueman and junior middle blocker
Berkeley Oblad were each named to the 2017 All-Pac-12 Volleyball Team, the league office announced on Tuesday.
Â
Anae was tabbed a first team selection for a third consecutive year, while Luafalemana, Trueman and Oblad earned honorable mention accolades. This is first honor for both Trueman and Oblad, while Luafalemana was named honorable mention for a second straight season.
Â
Anae becomes the first Utah player to earn three consecutive All-Pac-12 Conference honors and becomes the first Ute to earn three consecutive first team honors since Karolina Bartkowiak was tabbed First Team All-Mountain West Conference from 2008-10.
Â
This is Anae's third All-Pac-12 Team honor and fourth overall conference postseason selection after being named to the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team in 2014.
Â
Anae and Luafalemana become the first Utah duo to earn consecutive all-conference honors in back-to-back seasons since Kim Turner and Sylva Strzinkova were both honored in 2001 and 2002.
Â
This marks the first time that four Utah players have been named to an all-conference team since 2010 when Bartkowiak, Keisha Fisher, Morgan Odale and Erin Redd-Brandon were each named All-MWC players.
Â
Anae ranked fourth in the league with 4.28 kills per set and 484 total kills. She also posted 360 digs, 49 total blocks and 19 service aces on the season.
Â
Luafalemana totaled 143 blocks on the season, which ranked fourth in the Pac-12. She also ranked fourth in the league with a .364 hitting percentage. Luafalemana registered 233 kills and 48 digs for the Utes this season.
Â
Trueman totaled 278 kills, a 2.55 kills per set average, 61 digs and 44 total blocks on the year. She tallied 20 kills in a single match two different times this season, with the last effort coming back on Nov. 4 against Washington.
Â
Oblad totaled 134 blocks on the season, which ranked eighth in the Pac-12. She ranked among the top-10 with a 1.13 blocks per set average, as well. Oblad registered 277 kills, a 2.33 kills per set average, a .316 hitting percentage, 69 digs and 134 total blocks.
Â
Utah returns to the court this Thursday, Nov. 30, when they face-off with Cleveland State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. First serve between the Utes and Vikings is set for 7 p.m. MT at the Huntsman Center
