WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Utah senior Jenny Hutton was one of seven Pac-12 soccer players named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Scholar All-America teams, today.
Hutton became Utah's first Academic All-American since 2006 when Ashley Mason earned first team honors and Melissa Wayman finished on the third team.
A trio of players from national champions UCLA were placed on the first team (Abby Dahlkemper, Sarah Killion and Jenna Richmond). California defender Emi Lawson and Stanford forward Courtney Verloo garnered second-team accolades while Colorado defender Lizzy Herzl joined Hutton on the third teamTo be named to a Scholar All-America Team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) throughout his or her career; start more than 50 percent of all games and be a significant contributor to the team.
