WILTON, Conn. - Senior forward Erin Dalley earned national recognition Wednesday as she was named to the Soccer America Women's Team of the Week for games played Sept. 26 - Oct. 2. Dalley becomes the first Ute honored by the magazine since 2005.
The award follows a two-goal clutch performance over the weekend in which Dalley netted the tying goal in Utah's 2-1 come-from-behind victory over Arizona State, then tallied the game winner in the Utes' 3-1 win against Arizona on Sunday. She also assisted on the insurance goal against the Wildcats.
Dalley is the first Utah player since Adele Letro on Sept. 15, 2005, to be named to the Soccer America Team of the Week. Earlier this week, Dalley was also selected as the Pac-12 Women's Soccer Player of the Week as she became the first Ute to earn a weekly honor in women's soccer as a member of the new conference.
Dalley has scored in three of Utah's last four games and leads the team in points (10), goals (4), game-winning goals (2), shots (26) and shots-on-goal (13). She is also tied for second in assists (2). Through three Pac-12 games, Dalley leads the conference, or is tied for the top spot, in seven statistical categories. She is ranked No. 1 in points (6) and points per game (2.00) and is tied at No. 1 in goals (2), goals per game (0.67), assists (2), assists per game (0.67) and game-winning goals (1). She also ranks No. 3 in total shots (10) and shots per game (3.33).
Utah has won five straight games and seven of its last eight, including a 3-0-0 start in its inaugural season as a member of the Pac-12. Utah recently moved up to No. 6 in the NSCAA Pacific Region rankings.
