SALT LAKE CITY - University of Utah women's soccer players Katy Reineke (Salt Lake City) and Kiley Jones (San Clemente, Calif.) earned Academic All-District VIII honors recently.
The Academic All-District awards are part of the Academic All-America program administered by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
Reineke was named to the Academic All-District VIII First Team. The junior holds a 3.54 grade-point average and is majoring in business. Reineke, an East High School product, is fourth in the Mountain West Conference in goals per game. She has nine goals on the season. By virtue of being a first-team Academic All-District selection, Reineke will be placed on the Academic All-America ballot.
Jones was a third-team choice. The senior defender has scored two goals this season, including a game-winner. Jones moved to defender after starting in the midfield for the past three seasons to help shore up Utah's young defensive line.
