The University of Utah women's soccer team puts a 13-match unbeaten streak on the line with a pair of Mountain West Conference matches this week.
The Utes will travel to Fort Worth, Texas for a Friday evening matchup with TCU. Following the matchup with the Horned Frogs, Utah will host San Diego State at 1 p.m. Sunday.
Utah moved up to No. 22 from No. 27 in the Soccer Buzz Top 30. The Utes are receiving votes in the adidas/NSCAA poll.
Utah is 2-1-0 all-time against TCU and 0-1-0 in Fort Worth. The Utes are 9-3-2 all-time in matches with SDSU, including a 2-2-1 home mark.
Opening Kick
Utah plays its final regular-season home match of the season Sunday. It could be the final Ute Field appearance for four Utah seniors -- Chelsea Card, Melissa Crespo, Kiley Jones and Paola Marsenaro.
In their four years, this year's senior class has had great success. The Utes are 53-20-8 in that span.
Lethal Letro
Junior Adele Letro (Davis, Calif.) scored twice vs. Air Force last week. Her first goal came with 1:33 left in the game to send it to overtime. Her second was off a penalty kick in the extra period for her 16th tally and seventh game-winner.
Letro ranks No. 1 in the MWC and No. 3 in the nation in goals per game (1.07). Letro also has three assists, giving her 35 total points for an average of 2.33 points per game, which ranks No. 1 in the MWC and No. 5 in the nation.
Letro has scored in nearly half (27-of 57) of her career games. She has 8 career multi-goal games and 18 career game-winning goals.
Special K
Junior Katy Reineke (Salt Lake City) has somewhat flown under the radar and quietly had a very solid season for Utah.
Reineke is the team's second-leading goal scorer, with nine. She is also second on the team in assists with five. Her 23 points are second-best on the team, third in the MWC and 66th in the nation.
Reineke is also tied for third in the MWC and 72nd in the nation in goals per game, averaging 0.562 goals per contest. She leads the Mountain West Conference in shots, averaging 3.81 per contest.
