Head Coach Rich Manning:
"This was an important win, because we didn't compete well on Friday against Stanford. We thought it was still a warm-up for the first half of the Stanford game and we weren't ready for the competitiveness. I take responsibility for that. Today we competed well, but we still have a long way to go. We still have some kinks to work out and there are so many new players that are trying to get their feet wet."
"We have a lot of learning to do. The rhythm wasn't there today, but that will come in time. I was really happy with Chelsea's (Card) goal, knowing she is just coming off an ACL tear. She came in and did a great job."
"Kim Lloyd had a great game and her skills are something we haven't had since I've been coaching here. She does a good job holding the ball and running the offense."
Senior Tracy Stratton Garner
"Our freshmen are very talented and the girls off the bench really picked up the intensity. The freshmen were very composed today."
"We tried to win in the air, winning the first and second balls. We did a great job marking up and not giving them (Gonzaga) the scoring opportunities."
Junior Kim Lloyd
"I'm really happy about our performance today. I transferred to Utah to be coached by Rich and I'm not surprised to see the great team that we have this year. This is a great program and I'm really happy on how everything is turning out."
"I took the Stanford loss very personal, so I wanted to come out and show Gonzaga what Utah was all about."
