HONOLULU, Hawaii--The Utah softball team defeated Tokyo 2-0 on Friday at the Hawaii Invitational. The game will not count towards Utah's record because it was an exhibition match up.
Utah's runs came in the first inning after the starting pitcher, Brianna Gourdin, singled in Lynsey Wall and Melissa Stahnke. Wall had singled earlier in the inning, while Stahnke had walked to get on base.
Gourdin pitched the first two innings of the game, allowing just one hit. Heather Bowlin threw the final five innings. Bowlin gave up just four hits in her time in the circle.
