NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Utah baseball team fell to 1-8 on the year with a 9-0 loss to No. 7 Tulane this afternoon. The Green Wave shut out the Utes all three games, outscoring Utah 19-0 on the series.
Utah, which was out-hit 12-6 on the game, stranded five runners. Junior Trevor Eastman went 2-for-3 on the day, doubling twice. Junior Tyson Olson was the other Ute with a multi-hit game, going 2-for-4.
Freshman Eric Schaler (0-1) took the loss on the mound, pitching 4.0 innings. He gave up four runs on five hits, while walking three and striking out one.
Junior Clay Westmoreland pitched 1.2 innings in relief, giving up three runs, all unearned, while striking out four and walking none.

Utah travels to Cedar City, Utah, for two games at Southern Utah on Thursday and Friday, and a game against Central Michigan on Saturday.
