Head Coach Rich Manning
"This wasn't the start we wanted coming into conference this season. It's definitely disappointing to lose on our home field. One of our goals was to be undefeated at home, but we have to move on to the next game. There is still a lot of soccer to be played and we just have to continue to get better."
"They came out with a defensive strategy and we started the game well, but I think our energy level was lacking today. We were a little slow in transition, and that allowed them to get back behind the goal. We lost our composure after they scored and we had a lot of time to get back into the game."
"We had several opportunities to score, but our forwards just couldn't put them away; but that's the game. We didn't bring the energy to beat them today. Our goal was to score two goals, and that just didn't happen. We are coming off two tough games in L.A. last weekend and we have two or three injuries which are affecting our team."
Junior Forward Kim Lloyd
"I know we can do a lot better, but I think everyone gave it their all today. We wanted it, but we just couldn't put away any shot attempts."
"We played very well in the first half, but went scoreless and UNLV came out with a lot of energy. We didn't match their intensity and we should have picked it up more than we did."
