Head Coach Rich Manning:
"We didn't expect this to be an easy game. New Mexico has had some trouble this year, but they have done a great job of keeping the group together and playing hard. On the bright side, this was our third game against New Mexico (in the last two years) and we finally scored a goal."
"We struggled throughout the first part of the game. Our attacking players had trouble getting to the ball and hanging on to it. Julie Herdic, McKenzie Joyner and Lauren Field really got us going. We had good rhythm in the second-half and that carried over into the overtime."
"I really thought this game was Julie's and McKenzie's best (efforts) of the season. They really gave us a boost when we needed it."
Senior Amber Brower:
"Losing to them last year was a tough defeat. We really wanted to come out and prove ourselves."
"With the goal, a lot of credit has to go to Lauren (Field). She really worked hard to get the ball in position and I found myself in the right place at the right time to score the goal."
"New Mexico is a real physical team with a great defense. We had a lot of opportunities to score throughout the game, but were unable to finish them."
