EUGENE, Ore. - Utah's No. 23-ranked women's soccer team (3-0-2) garnished a 1-1 tie against Oregon (0-3-1) on Sunday at Pape' Field.
The Utes single goal came from forward Missy Dennis. The goal came at the 30:48 mark from a deflection near center field. Dennis blasted the 16-yard deflection pass Oregon goalkeeper Sarah Peters to tie the game at 1-1. This goal marked Dennis' third goal of the season. Utah outshot the Ducks by a margin of 14-8.
Julie Herdic opened the first overtime with a shot, which was unsuccessful at the 94:37 mark. In the second overtime, the Utes last chance for victory came at the 102:44 mark from senior Shauna Gurr-Bingham. Gurr-Bingham's shot resulted wide as Utah took their second tie of the season.
Next up, the Utes will travel to Pullman, Washington to take on Washington State. This bout with the Cougars will be played Friday, Sept. 20, at 3:00 p.m. (PT). The Cougars are coming off a win against San Jose State, 3-1. This victory increases the Cougars winning streak to 5-0 on the season.
