STOCKTON, Calif.-Utah came back from a, 0-3, deficit and a rain delay to win game one of its three-game series against Pacific, 10-5, on Friday. Game one began Thursday afternoon, but was delayed in the bottom of the second inning because of the rain. Utah pitcher Jason Wylie started the game on Thursday, but allowed three runs in the bottom of the first inning. Game one resumed on Friday and Pacific took its, 0-3, lead into the top of the sixth inning.
Led by a Jed Chrisman grand slam, Utah boasted a five-run sixth inning to take the lead, 5-3. The Tigers added two runs of their own in the bottom of the eighth to tie the game at, 5-5, and force extra innings. In the top of the twelth, Utah banged out another five-run inning that pushed the lead and final score to, 10-5.
Chrisman was two-of-six on the night with five RBI and two runs scored to lead the Utes. Brit Pannier also posted a great night of hitting with three RBI off three hits. Cheyenne Rushton earned his first win of the season. Rushton allowed two runs in 6.2 innings of work. Mitch Maio (2-0) grabs his second win of the season. Maio threw 4.1 scoreless innings and struck out five of the 15 batters he faced.
