Utah Baseball Grabs Game Three From Arizona, 7-5

TUCSON, Ariz.-Utah prevented an Arizona sweep on Sunday at Sancet Field, by grabbing game three, 7-5. The win moves the Utes to 2-4 on the season and hands the Wildcats their first loss of the year (5-1).
Utah struck first in the game when Nate Weese launched a two-run homerun over the right field wall in the first inning. Arizona answered in the bottom of the first with two runs of its own. The Utes pushed the lead to 5-2 in the top of the second, off a two-run double to right field by Jared Snyder and an RBI ground out by Adam Castleton.
The Wildcats fought back by scoring two runs in the bottom of the fifth and one run in the bottom of the ninth, which forced a tenth inning with the score tied 5-5.
In the top of the tenth, Brit Pannier picked the perfect time for his first hit of the game driving a two-out single to center field that scored Castleton and Donald Hawes. Pitcher Mitch Maio took the 7-5 lead into the bottom of the tenth, and the Ute defense and Maio forced the Wildcats to go three-up, three-down for the win.
Maio nabs his first win of the season (1-0-1). The senior allowed one run in 3.0 innings of work. Ryan Reisbeck started the game for the Utes. Reisbeck pitched 2.1 innings and allowed two runs. Sean Overholt came on in middle relief, allowing two runs in 4.2 innings. Tony Susler (0-1) picks up the loss for Arizona.
Leading the Ute offensive attack were Snyder, Pannier and Weese with two RBI's a piece. Snyder finished the day going two-of-three, while Weese was two-of five.
