STOCKTON, Calif.-Utah wrapped up its three-game series against Pacific on Saturday by snatching game three, 12-10. The Utes find themseles at 4-5 on the season after taking two-of three games from the Tigers. Pacific falls to 1-2 on the year.
Pacific struck first in the game, taking a, 1-0, advantage in the first inning. Utah replied with three runs of its own in the second and unleashed five more runs in the third to take an, 8-1, lead. The Tigers cut the lead to, 8-7, after scoring four runs in the sixth and two in the seventh. Utah sealed the win with a four-run ninth inning.
Donald Hawes led the Utes at the plate. Hawes had two hits, including a three-run homer. The senior catcher also added five RBI and scored two runs on the night. Brit Pannier continued his multiple hits streak during the weekend series by going two-of-three with three RBI and two runs scored.
Jason Wylie (2-1) picked up his second win of the year after allowing five runs in 5.2 innings. Mitch Maio (2-0) earned his second save of the season.
