PROVO, Utah - The Utah baseball team is 0-2 against Brigham Young dropping a second game 4-3 today. The Utes scored three runs on 10 hits, while BYU scored four runs on 11, both teams had two errors. The loss brings Utah to a 13-16, 4-4 record and boosts Brigham Young to 16-12, 7-1 to lead the Mountain West Conference.
Freshman Brit Pannier and sophomore Adam Castleton led the Utes at the plate. Pannier was 2-for-4 scoring one run. Castleton hit 2-for-4 scoring a run and a pair of RBI. Sophomore pitcher Ryan Bailey picks up the loss for Utah bringing his season record to 1-3. He pitched the first 5.1 innings of the game facing 26 batters.
The Utes and the Cougars finish the three-game series tomorrow in Provo, Utah, at 1:00 p.m.
