TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Utah baseball team is 0-3 taking its third loss to Arizona State in a 1-9 contest. The Utes scored one run on three hits, while ASU scored nine runs on ten hits.
Sophomore first baseman scored the Utes only run on a solo home run. The Utes' other two hits were a single by Jed Chrisman and a double by Sam Swenson.
Ryan Bailey opened the game on the mound pitching 2.1 innings. Relief pitcher Mitch Maio also stepped in for two innings of relief. He faced nine batters and struck out four.
The Utes resume non-conference play in a three-game series against Cal. Poly-SLO Jan. 27-29.
