TEMPE, Ariz. - The Utah men's baseball team is 0-2 on the season taking their second loss to Arizona State 11-6. The Utes scored six runs on eight hits with two errors. The Sun Devils scored 11 runs on 14 hits with one error.
Outfielders Sam Swenson and Jamie Hardy pounded the Utes' first home runs of the season. Swenson was two for four scoring two runs and logging two RBI. He leads the team with four hits, also including a double.
On the mound, senior Jared Cavaness opened the game playing 5.1 innings. The right handed hurler faced 25 batters an allowed only four runs. He also pitched three strikeouts.
The Utes round out the series with their final game against the Sun Devils, Sun., Jan. 23 at 1:00 p.m.
