Scott Willis enters his first year as the assistant director of applied health and performance science and 13th year overall at the University of Utah. Willis previously served as the assistant director of football performance and director of tennis sport performance from 2009-21.
Prior to joining Utah, Willis worked at Kentucky where he trained and worked alongside 13 teams as an assistant strength and conditioning coach from 2004-09.
In 2021, Willis qualified as a Master Strength and Conditioning Coach through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association, representing professionalism, knowledge, experience, expertise, and longevity in the field. He is also certified as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA.
He graduated from BYU in 2004 with a degree in physical education and earned a master’s in exercise physiology from Kentucky in 2008.
Willis and his wife Julia have three children, Rhett, Layla and Naomi.
