PROVO, Utah – The Utah women's tennis team closed out their fall slate in a successful fashion this past weekend in Provo, Utah at the 2025 ITA DI Women's Mountain Regional Championships. This tournament hosted 20 teams located in the mountain region with multiple Utes showcasing strong performances.
Emma Kamper had an impressive showing this past weekend as she entered the regional tournament as the No. 1 seed. She started her tournament with a strong 6-0, 6-3 win over UNLV's
Kaho Oyama in the main round of 64. Then, she posted a 6-4, 6-4 win over Denver's Zoe Adkins. Kamper faced NAU's No. 9 Patrycja Niewiadomska in the round of 16, where she won with 6-4, 6-2 scores to advance to the quarterfinals.
Kamper's momentum stayed hot in her quarterfinal play as she had a 6-2, 6-2 win over Boise State's Tereza Polakova. Kamper went on to face teammate,
Emmie Moore in the semifinals, where she won with 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 scores to advance to the finals. Her appearance in the finals punched her ticket for the NCAA Individual Championships in Orlando, Fla. Nov. 18-23.
No. 3 seeded Moore started her tournament play with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Denver's Natalie Cinkova in the round of 64. She went on to post 6-1, 7-5 scores over Montana State's Angel Bean in the round of 32. In the round of 16, Moore faced Boise State's Paula Schaefer where she went on to win, 6-7(6), 6-3, 6-1. Moore's quarterfinals action consisted with a 7-5, 6-3 win over Denver's Marley Lambert. Moore would later fall to teammate Kamper in the semifinals.
Emma Valletta found success by winning 7-6(4), 6-4 over BYU's Yu-Yun Chen in the round of 64. Valletta later faced Colorado's Heidi Crncan in the round of 32 where she posted 7-6(4), 6-1 scores. Valletta made it to the round of 16 before falling out of the main draw.
No. 6 seeded
Kaila Barksdale's weekend started with a 7-5, 3-6, 6-2 win over Utah State's Terezia Mlkva in the main round of 64. In the round of 32, she went on to pick up a 6-2, 6-0 win over Boise State's Masa Viriant advancing her to the round of 16. Her run would eventually end in the round of 16.
Hayley Roberts entered the ITA Mountain Regional Championships as No. 2 seed in the qualifying draw. She started off the qualifying draw by defeating BYU's Bella Lewis in a 6-1, 6-1 fashion in the qualifying round of 64. In the final qualifying match, Roberts picked up a 1-6, 6-4, 6-4 win over Utah State's Maria Paula Romas Garcia to earn her a spot in the main draw. She would eventually fall to UNLV's No. 9 Nikol Mircheva in the main round of 64.

Emma Kamper is set to play in the NCAA Individual Championships Nov. 18-21 in Orlando, Fla.
Emmie Moore's run into the semifinals qualified her to play in the ITA Sectionals Nov. 6-9 at the University of Washington.
The Utes will start their 2026 season away at Santa Barbara on January 18 and then travel back home to host a double header matchup against Weber State and Idaho State on January 24 at the George S. Eccles Tennis Center.
