FROM THE START LINE
The Utes will send a program-record three individual qualifiers to the indoor championships along with its DMR team for the second-consecutive year. This is the just the third time Utah has had multiple individual qualifiers for the indoor championships (2004, 2023, 2026) with the previous two instances consisting of two qualifiers.
Â
This is the second-straight year the DMR team has qualified for the championships after finishing fifth-overall last season – which also served as the first time the program had its DMR squad qualify for the championships. The Utes return the same quartet of
Bri Rinn,
Emily Martin,
Kyla Martin and
Erin Vringer for this year's race while
Millie Wilcox serves as the alternate.
Â
Sophomore
Chelsea Amoah will compete in her first NCAA Indoor Championships when she steps onto the track for the 200m dash and is the first Ute to compete in a sprints event at the championships. Meanwhile, Rinn will be the third Ute in program history to compete in the mile at the indoor championships when she toes the line. The Lincoln, Neb., product will also be competing as part of the DMR team for the second-straight year at the championships.
Â
Erin Vringer is the third and final individual qualifier for Utah and will race in the 3000m run while also anchoring the DMR. Like her teammates, this is the first time qualifying as an individual for Vringer at the indoor championships and will be just the second Ute to run in the event (Simone Plourde, 2023).
