Utah Volleyball Earns Respect from Big 12 Peers in Preseason Poll

The Utes also place two in the All-Big 12 Preseason Team
SALT LAKE CITY – Utah Volleyball comes in fourth place according to their peers in the 2025 Big 12 Preseason Poll, while outside hitter Kamryn Gibadlo and middle blocker Emrie [Satuala] Moea'i earn recognition on the Big 12 Preseason Team.
"A fourth place Big 12 preseason rank makes sense to me," said Utah Volleyball head coach Beth Launiere. "We have a tremendous amount of talent returning from our 2024 team that finished third. It shows respect for our program that our peers believe we can reload versus rebuild after losing eight seniors last year."

The Utes had a very successful first season in the Big 12, going 25-6 overall and 14-4 in conference, earning a third-place finish in their new home, and their 19th appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
Utah finished the year ranked No. 23 in the AVCA Coaches' Poll and placed five athletes on the All-Big 12 Team, and four receiving AVCA All-Region honors.
Gibadlo, who went on to earn the program's 24th All-America nod, and Moea'i were two of the five athletes the Utes placed on the All-Big 12 Team at the end of the season.
"Kamryn and Emrie are two of the best players in the conference, and certainly deserve to be put on the BIG 12 Volleyball Preseason Team," said Launiere. "I'm excited to see them develop as leaders of our team and expect them to have a great season."

LOOKING TO 2025
Utah Volleyball will be tested early and often in 2025, starting their season with an exhibition match against Texas in Austin on August 15. The Utes' schedule is littered with challenging matchups including Dayton, Texas A&M, Utah State, Nebraska, Arizona State, TCU and rival BYU among others.
