SALT LAKE CITY – Utah Golf star
Gabriel Palacios earned a spot on the Haskins Award Final Fall Watch List on Tuesday morning.
Since 1971, the Fred Haskins Award has annually been given to the top male U.S. collegiate golfer as voted on by college golfers, coaches and members of the golf media. The coveted trophy honors the most outstanding college golfer as well as the memory of legendary golf professional and mentor Fred Haskins, who made a career coaching amateur golfers.
Palacios is just the second Ute to be recognized by the Haskins Foundation and Stifel as one of the nation's best golfers. Fellow teammate
Sergio Jimenez was named to the award's First Spring Watch List back in 2024-25.
Utah Golf is on their winter hiatus after a productive fall slate and will return to action in late January at the Southwestern.
