DAY THREE RECAP
STATESBORO, Ga. — No. 26 Utah Golf went
back-to-back as Schenkel Invitational champions, holding on to their title from a year ago through three strong rounds of play. This is the first tournament title for the Utes in the 2025-26 season and third top-three finish (
Wohali and
Tindall) overall.
Utah went 6-over 294 in the third round of play to give them a 21-under 843 for the course of the tournament. The Utes set up
a solid foundation on day one, and posted
a tremendous effort on day two to give them the advantage in a challenging day three round for the entire field.
The Utes were led from the jump by senior
Brandon Robison who posted a 5-under 67 in round one and a 7-under 65 in day two to remain bogeyless through 36 holes.
Day three proved to be tougher with Robison carding a 3-over 75, however the effort was good enough to keep him in the top five (tied a five) for Utah's highest finisher of the tournament, going 9-under 207 for the entire three days of play.
Sergio Jimenez was the Utes' next highest finisher at the Schenkel tying for 12
th after a 4-over 76 day three. Jimenez's strong first two days of play (back-to-back 5-under 67 efforts) allowed the junior to card a 6-under 210 for the entire tournament.
Senior
Davis Johnson stayed within the top 20 at the Schenkel (tied for 19) after 3-over 75 day one and day three scores, however, it was his day two that dropped jaws coming in with a career-best 8-under 64 to give the Utes a cushion heading into the final day of play on Sunday. Johnson finished the Schenkel 2-under 214 overall.
Jack Jerge had the best day three of all for the Utes, securing a 4-under 68 to launch himself 37 spots up the leaderboard for a tie at 37. Jerge finished the Schenkel 2-over 218.
Sergio Jimenez rounded out Utah's final efforts at the Schenkel with a 4-over 76 to card a 5-over 221 through three days.
As an individual,
Kade McDonough posted a 4-over 76 in day three for a tie at 75.

COACH'S THOUGHTS
"This was huge for our team to get this win," said head coach
Garrett Clegg. "We haven't been at our best this spring, and for us to come out on top is a great feeling. It will help build confidence for our team moving forward through the rest of the season."
"Round two was an incredible round," continued coach Clegg. "Davis shot his lowest score in his time at the U and Brandon played another incredible round going the first two days (36 holes) without a bogey. I'm not sure I've ever had a player play 36 holes bogey free. Sergio played great the first two days as well with his back-to-back 67s. In day three, Jack's 68 was huge for us. This was overall a great team win."
"We will have 10 days before our next tournament and we still have a lot we can work on, but this win will hopefully insert a large amount of confidence in our team moving forward."
UP NEXT
The Utes will be "off" for a week and a half before turning their attention to the Goodwin from March 26-28 in Palo Alto, Cali., hosted by the Stanford Cardinal.
