Schramm pitched 4.1 innings of one-run ball out of the bullpen

Shortstop Matt Richardson had a 2-for-4 night at the plate, scoring a run for Utah, while catcher Davis Cop doubled in a 2-for-4 effort and came across the plate as well. Right fielder Kai Roberts and center fielder Dakota Duffalo each earned an RBI for the Utes.

Dusty Schramm did a nice job out of the Utah bullpen, working 4.1 innings of one-run, three-hit ball with three strikeouts and two walks.

Cal's offense was hot early as the club batted around in the home half of the first inning, pushing four runs across. The Golden Bears added a three-spot in the bottom of the second inning to stretch the margin to 7-0.

The game moved pretty quickly from that point until the seventh inning, when Utah got on the board with a pair of runs. Cop led off with a first-pitch double to right-center field, took third when Richardson singled to left, then scored on a Duffalo double that rolled to the left field wall. Richardson would come home with Utah's second run of the night on Kai Roberts' RBI groundout.

The bats heated back up for Cal however, with the home team plating four runs in the seventh inning and seven in the eighth inning.

Steven Zobac (4-3) earned the win for the Bears, while Jaden Harris (1-4) took the loss for the Utes.
