SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah track & field team will have a full squad compete at the BYU Indoor Invitational (Dec. 8-9) this week as it competes on both Thursday and Friday down at Smith Fieldhouse.

OFF THE BLOCK
Utah will send a full complement of runners to the meet with most of its roster competing on Friday, Dec. 9.
Malia Overton (transfer, SF State),
Harley Daniel and
Millie Wilcox will all make their collegiate debuts on Friday while transfer
Dee Denise (Morgan State / Albany) makes her debut in the Red & White. Additionally, Park City native
Chloe Shewell will also be making her indoor track season debut after making her outdoor debut last spring. This week's meet will be final competition for Utah in the remaining calendar year before it starts back up in January of 2023.

Rachel Whipple,
Delaney Gates and Overton will kick things off for the Utes on Thursday, Dec. 8. Whipple will compete in the multis while Overton makes her debut in the long jump. In addition to the long jump, Gates will also be competing in the triple jump.

RACE REWIND
Last year at the same meet,
Josefine Eriksen – in her Utah debut – won the 600-yard race with a time of 1:20.40 in her first-career collegiate indoor race.
Bailey Kealamakia took second in the 60m hurdles while
Maya LeBar broke her PR twice in the 60m race before finishing third overall and moving into third on the all-time list at Utah with a time of 7.66 (aa). Meanwhile, the 4x320m relay team took home the title with a time of 2:56.23.

UP NEXT
The Women of Utah will now get some rest with the holiday break ahead before returning back to campus to prepare for the remainder of the indoor season starting in January 2023. Utah's first meet after the new year will take place in Moscow, Idaho, at the Lauren McCluskey Memorial Open (Jan. 20-21) inside the Kibbie-ASUI Activity Center
