Utah will compete in a field of 20 teams at the John A. Burns Intercollegiate, which includes tournament host Hawaii, Arizona, Brigham Young, CSUN, Fresno State, Grand Canyon, Long Beach State, New Mexico, North Carolina, Northern Colorado, Saint Mary's, Texas A&M, UC Irvine, UC Santa Barbara, UNC-Wilmington, UNLV, UTEP, Virginia, and Washington State.
THE COURSE
The Wailua Golf Course will play at par 72, and 6,991 yards this week. The Wailua Golf Course hosted three USGA Amateur Public Links Championships and was voted as one of Hawaii's best 15 courses by Golf Digest. The Wailua Golf Course is also rated the third-best course in Hawai by The Golf Channel.
The Wailua Golf Course sits along the shores of the Pacific Ocean with mountains also visible in the background. The front nine holes are fairly open, while the back nine holes feature several elevation changes. Numerous sand bunkers, along with many coconut and pine trees are found throughout the course as well.
UTAH'S LINE-UP
Utah's line-up this week will consist of: Junior Nathan Wunderli, sophomore Jordan Costello, freshman Tristan Mandur, sophomore Peyton Hastings, and freshman Blake Tomlinson. This will mark Hastings' first competition of the 2017-18 season for Utes, while Wunderli will compete for the first time attached to the team as his first outing was as an individual at the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational.
TOURNAMENT DETAILS
Participants will play 18 holes with a shotgun start each day of the tournament. All rounds will begin at 8:00 a.m. HT Thursday through Saturday, Feb. 15-17. Five golfers will make up the team as the four top scores of each round will count toward the overall team score.

Three Utes posted top-20 performances in the final outing of the fall campaign, with sophomore Jordan Costello leading the way after carding a combined score of 1-over par (217) to finish in a tie for 15th place. Freshman Tristan Mandur (218) and sophomore Mitchell Schow (218) finished in a tie for 19th place after notching three-round scores of 2-over par.
QUOTABLE
"It is going to be great to be in Hawaii for our first tournament of the spring season," said head coach Garrett Clegg. "We are very fortunate to be there and get the opportunity to start off in a strong field. There will be 20 teams in the field, so we will be up against a lot of good competition."
"This is our first tournament whereas some teams have already competed in their first tournaments when the season began two weeks ago. We are extremely excited to get going and see where we are at. We have had incredible weather that has allowed us to work on our games and so we feel prepared and ready to go for Hawaii."
"It is just the beginning of the year so we expect our guys to compete really hard. We have had some really great individual performances over the break. Tristan, Nate, and Blake have all done great in different events over the break and we are excited to bring what we have worked on from the offseason and put it into effect this week."
UP NEXT
The Utes will head to the desert to take action in the National Invitational Tournament in Tucson, Ariz. The tournament will take place on Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 26-27, at the Omni Tucson National Golf Course.
