WILMINGTON, N.C.—Utah Golf bounced back in the final day of the Williams Cup to tie for eighth place while senior Sergio Jimenez put forth a monster effort to climb 22 spots up the leaderboard for an individual tie at seventh.

Utah ended its time at the Williams cup 16-over 880 after piecing together a 3-under 285 score in the third and final round of the tournament.

Jimenez proved to be invaluable down the stretch hitting 5-under 67, buoying the Utes from a 12^th place hole after Tuesday's round.

"Sergio was fantastic today," head coach Garrett Clegg said. "It was great to have him back from Spain and good to see him contribute. He has been so close to playing really good golf this fall but just hadn't put it all together till now. This week with the wind and at a major ball strikers course he was outstanding."

The Spanish senior finished the entire three rounds at 2-under 214 and was the only Ute to finish under par.

Sophomore Jan Farre played his best round of golf on the final day as well, ending round three 1-under 71. Jack Jerge and Gabriel Palacios rounded out Utah's final scoring efforts carding 1-over 73 and 2-over 74 respectively.

"This has been a very frustrating fall overall for us," Clegg said. "However, it was nice to see us end this half of the season with a very good final nine holes of golf."

Utah Golf will be on hiatus for the next three months until the spring slate opens in February at the John Burns Collegiate.
