WILMINGTON, N.C.—Utah Golf finished day one that the Williams Cup in eighth place after finishing round one 8-over 296.

Senior Jack Jerge led the charge for the Utes finishing his round at an even par for a piece of ninth place.

Fellow seniors Sergio Jimenez and Gabriel Palacios were right behind Jerge, carding 1-over 73 and 2-over 74 respectively.

Rex Wilson rounded out Utah's scoring efforts through the first round of the Williams Cup with a 5-over 77.

Sophomore Jan Farre made his starting five debut for the Utes with a 6-over 78.

The Utah Golf team will resume play in Wilmington on Monday, Oct. 19 beginning at 6:15 a.m. MT.
