SALT LAKE CITY - Utah softball fans will have plenty of chances to see the team in action this fall as head coach Amy Hogue announced the Utes' fall schedule this week.
"The fall season is a great opportunity for us to see everyone on our team compete," said Hogue. "They will all get chances to show us what they can do on the field in order to help us win games."
Utah will open the fall season on Tuesday, Sept. 16, against Salt Lake Community College at Utah Softball Stadium with a first pitch scheduled for 4 p.m. (MT). The Utes will then host five more home contests in the fall before heading to Ft. Collins, Colo., to face Colorado State on Sunday, Oct. 12.
Utah's home fall schedule will include contests with Utah Valley (Sept. 23), College of Southern Idaho (Sept. 25), Snow College (Sept. 30), SLCC (Oct. 2) and Weber State (5 p.m.).
Following its lone road game at CSU, Utah will closeout the fall with a pair of Red and White scrimmages that will take place Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 14-15.
" I am looking forward to seeing how the new players fit into a very veteran team, that has some really high expectations heading into the spring," said Hogue. "There is a lot of talent in this group and during the fall we will start the process of trying to find out just how each of them can contribute and help us be the strongest team that we can be".
Utah returns 14 players from the 2013 squad, which includes 10 players that had more than 20 starts last season. Four newcomers round out the 2015 roster.
