The Utes put their closer Tyler Wagner in to pitch. UAB put two on with one out after a walk and a single. Although Wagner forced a ground out to put two outs up, Matt Morse tied the game on a wild pitch before John Frost would send the go-ahead run home on an RBI single to center. Another run would score on an error before reliever Tyler Andersen got Michael Busby to strike out to end the inning.
